Gross Personal Happiness

A Leg UP

A Leg UP

I just finished watching  Michael J. Fox  special on optimism.  He visited a country between India and China called Bhutan.  They measure their Gross National Happiness instead of their Gross National Product.  Wikipedia says, “While conventional development models stress economic growth as the ultimate objective, the concept of GNH claims to be based on the premise that true development of human society takes place when material and spiritual development occur side by side to complement and reinforce each other. The four pillars of GNH are the promotion of sustainable development, preservation and promotion of cultural values, conservation of the natural environment, and establishment of good governance.”

What if we measured our GPH- Gross Personal Happiness. What would your GPH be based on?   Productivity?  Integrity?  Laughter?  Connections?  Income?  Balance?   How are you doing with it?  Leave a comment and let us know.

So my GPH at the close of business today is a 9. It’s high because I had a valuable coaching session with my coach. Being witnessed and honored is heaven. Meaningful, fun connections are one of my pillars of happiness. Being present and not worrying or regretting also counts….

  • Good work! This is a good example of what can be done if only time is taken to make the post a quality one.

  • I couldn’t agree more. This is what I’ve been trying to say. You just put it into words better than I could.

I would also like to get involved in blogging also and I at the moment have a blog with Wordpress, but it is very difficult for me to create and I would very much like to try to find some training guides or courses (hopefully ones that are free) that can hopefully assist me in using word press correctly. As a wordpress site owner yourself, do you perhaps know were i could learn online tutorials to do this? Thanks!

  • Stunning posting! You love what you are talking about. One other idea that’s nearly always bothered me personally with regards to these thoughts and studies is that they mostly invoke very dangerous situation remote from ordinary experience. Anyhow… I entirely correspond about being around an thought. This commonly occurs on its own when somebody follows their real love and intention.

Jeremiah, took a long time for me to get back to these comments. My apologies. I just started writing what I cared about, or what I or my clients are working on. I don’t follow the rules. I need to fill my post with keywords and more, but I’ll get to that. I’m enjoying the writing. Google blog writing tips – there is much out there!
