Why am I coaching Indigo, Crystal, Rainbow, Star adults and teens?

The short answer is I was guided and I’m trusting the guidance.

The longer answer is this story: after months of asking “What is God’s highest vision for my life now?”, I hired a spiritual business coach and through visioning and channeling we both saw me work with young adults – in their 20’s.  That made me really angry.  “I tried that before- it didn’t work.” “They don’t have any money.”  “They don’t know what coaching is.”  “I’m too old to connect with them.”  “This is a big mistake”. Then I remembered that the stronger the negative reaction, the more likely you hit the nail on the head when working with a client about their purpose.  So I stopped fighting and got curious.  Then I had  a session with spiritual coach and when I mentioned young adults in the middle of our sacred space she said, “Oh, you’re working with our Indigo adults.”  I just wept.  Huge sobs.  I said with a reaction like that I guess I was.  I was baffled.  What do I offer that young adult indigos / crystals / rainbows / crave?

A few very trusted spiritual friends heard me tell this story through even more tears.   A friend and two clients who turned out to be Indigo urged me to do because I make things safe and helped things make sense.  I listen without judgment and help calm and ground wild crazy energy.  I nurture the beginnings of them coming out of the closet about having this set of gifts, talents and challenges, and making the difference they are here to make.

About the Details

I’ve coached since 1999.    I am owner of Emerging Brilliance in the San Francisco bay area.  I do Co-Active Coaching (a true partnership with clients), Life Purpose work, workshops,  and speeches.  I am a Professional Certified Coach.

I spent 20 years in the high tech corporate world where I was a programmer analyst,  tech support manager,  co-owner of a computer software company, and technical writer.  I escaped from the wrong career just barely breathing (it took me 6 years to get my health back) and have always wanted to help others NOT make the mistake of choosing the wrong career for the wrong reasons.

Emerging Brilliance began when I was deep into my career as a software designer / programmer.  At a workshop I realized I was not getting paid for what mattered to me.    I began a search for work that 1) came from my heart and 2) I could do while I was recovering from auto-immune illnesses that arose from how I didn’t handle the stress as an employee, wife and mom of 2.   I found out about coaching -and it seemed like an amazing career!  But it was too big of a leap for this programmer.  I hired a coach to help me get from where I was to where I wanted to be.  It took me some time and working with a committed partner outside of me to give myself permission to go for what I wanted – those egos have a strong hold on us!.

I chose coaching as a career, and opened my doors as Rollercoaching in 1999 while I was training and getting certified as a Professional Co-Active Coach with The Coaches Training Institute.  Here I helped men, women, moms, dads, entrepreneurs, employees, and retirees live the fulfilling life their hearts desired but their egos feared to pursue.

I developed skills to lead groups, workshops and do presentations.  I learned earth-based coaching, non-violent communication, spiritual coaching and more.  I took two year-long leadership courses (Co-Active Leadership from CTI and “Lead Like a Woman” from Rejuvenate).  In 2005 I was licensed to do specialized True Purpose Coaching by Tim Kelley. I shed the computer programmer and emerged as coach.

I changed my name to Emerging Brilliance in 2003 because people thought I taught rollerblading.  Imagine that! Emerging Brilliance fits what turns me on about this work!

In 2011 I ran into another crisis of purpose. After 12 years and some really lean times in the past year, I needed to regroup and find what wanted to be born now.  Here I am as an Indigo Coach / Guide.

I love what I do.  My vision is to inspire 1000 indigo / crystal / rainbow adults and teens to reveal, own, and  shine their brilliance and be leaders in the world.  They start businesses, find their best career, raise their families, and help the earth through her transformation with grace and power.
